About BrainScope :: Management Team

Elvir Causevic, D.Sc. is the President and Founder of BrainScope Company, Inc. and the inventor of its core technologies. Dr. Causevic holds a Doctor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis and has expertise in advanced digital signal processing (DSP) and wavelet theory.

Dr. Causevic, originally from Bosnia, has more than a dozen years’ experience in both starting and managing privately held entrepreneurial companies in various fields, including advanced software, the chemical/pharmaceutical industry, and portable medical device companies. Dr. Causevic is a former faculty member of the Department of Applied Mathematics at Yale University, where he taught Advanced Signal Processing.


Mark Wright, Chief Financial Officer, brings more than 21 years of financial experience to his position with BrainScope Company, Inc. As CFO, Mr. Wright is responsible for capital formation, budgeting, forecasting, corporate governance matters and all financial, human resource and administrative functions.

Prior to joining BrainScope, Mr. Wright served as CFO for Abiliti Solutions, Inc., a software development and telecommunication consulting company. At Abiliti, Mr. Wright was a member of an M&A team responsible for the successful sale of the company. Mr. Wright has significant capital formation experience, including the raising of over $50mm in private equity during his tenure at Abiliti. Prior to Abiliti, Mr. Wright served as the CFO of Technology Applications, Inc., a software development and systems integration company for Internet Service Providers. Previously he held management positions with Maybelline, Inc. and PriceWaterhouseCoopers, LLP.

Mr. Wright holds a B.S.B.A in Accounting from Saint Louis University and is a certified public accountant.


Rich Watt, Director of Marketing and Operations, joined BrainScope Company, Inc. from Respironics/Novametrix, where he served as Senior Marketing Manager with the Novametrix Cardiopulmonary Division. Mr. Watt brings extensive experience in the development and marketing of new medical products through the strategic planning and implementation of sales training programs, product development plans and marketing communication efforts. At Previously Mr. Watt served as the Director of the Anesthesia Biomedical Engineering Laboratory in the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Arizona. There he interfaced with physicians and industry designers to develop, test and assess new patient monitoring systems.

Mr. Watt earned his Masters of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering specializing in Clinical/Biomedical Engineering at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona and his Bachelor of Science degree at University of New Haven in New Haven, Connecticut.


Brad Fercho, Vice President of Sales, brings over 20 years of sales experience to the BrainScope Company, Inc. Prior to joining BrainScope, Mr. Fercho worked at Mallinckrodt for 17 years, where he held multiple sales management positions of increasing responsibility. His final position was President of Mallinckrodt’s $800 million Medical Imaging Group.

Following the acquisition of Mallinckrodt by Tyco in 2000, he has focused his activity on venture capital funded companies. Most recently, he was Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Everest Biomedical until its successful acquisition by Stryker Corporation in 2007.

Mr. Fercho holds a BS in Marketing from Arizona State University.
